there he goes again....

....imposing his moral beliefs on the rest of the country.....


I'm not really sure that's really what's going on here.

Bush decided to veto the most recent stem cell research bill. Why? Because he does not believe that it is morally correct.

I was listening to NPR on the way home from work yesterday, and a man they were interviewing (with an important title, respectively) said something along the lines of "Bush needs to stop imposing his moral beliefs onto the rest of the country...lets hope that he decides to keep his vetoing pen in his pocket."

Is he asking the president to pass a bill that he believes is morally wrong because the people are pressuring him to? I personally don't want a president who passes a bill he honestly believes is wrong because part of the country is hoping he will. What kind of a leader would that be? What would that say about him? Our country?

And if that doesn't work for you...

Are you really telling me that if you were president and you believed stem cell research was morally kosher, that you would veto a bill to advance it because the evangelical community wanted you to?

If you were pro-life would you put pro-choice lobbiests' intrests on the top of your "bills to sign" list?
